Today I almost came to Top Dog asking for help in finding the birth of a lass who is on the 1901 census with Mother & two brothers- father having died. Decided to have another look
Finally confirmed on FMP with Christian name reversed. Lovely! but where was she after that?
Now I am here asking if anyone can find:-Mary Esther Clark -GRO Reference: 1893 M Quarter in HAMPSTEAD Volume 01A Page 675
1901 RG13; Piece: 127; Folio: 95; Page: 11
"Esther Mary Clark-8-Daughter"
Father William George died 1898
Mother Sarah Ann (nee Wells) died 1904 London
Brothers John Alexander b. 1887- George Ellis b. 1889

Any help happily received - good hunting
 
Not had too much luck tracing Mary Esther so far but have found the baptism of younger brother who was baptised at Emmanuel West Hampstead on 10 November 1889 as Ellis George son of George William & Sarah CLARK, 8 West End Cottages, Pipe Fitter. Given that he was baptised at West Hampstead, there is this George CLARK in the 1911 census of Willesden boarding in the household of William FINCH & his family. George is described as an unmarried boarder, aged 21, born West Hampstead, a Gas Light & Coke Coy Labourer. John Alexander Clark was also baptised at Emmanuel West Hampstead on 12 May 1889, son of George William & Sarah CLARKE, 8 Potters Cottages West End, Fitter. However, I haven't found a baptism for Mary Esther/Esther Mary at the same church nor have I found her after the 1901 census - so far. Will keep looking though.

Thank you @janetbooth . yes both boys were Baptised at Emmanuel, I did wonder if Mary/Esther had died as an infant- not found- or missed Baptism due to ill health & death of Father.
Yes, I thought the 1911 siting of 'George' in Finch household was likely too.
John A. married in 1907 & I found him in 1939. I think I skipped 1911 due to search for Mary Esther.


Thank you also @Bay Horse, I stayed abed until 7am hoping to recharge my search capacity. Let's hope that works ;)
 
It doesn't help that the family seem to transpose their forenames frequently does it! Don't know if you already have this, but it looks as if John Alexander CLARK is resident in Hendon in the 1921 census together with wife Edith R and children living at 55 Cloister Road and is described as a Chauffeur for A I Motors of West End Lane, Hampstead.

Still not having any luck finding Mary Esther with any certainty after the 1901 census record except for a death registration at Hampstead reg district in June qtr 1836 for a Mary E CLARKE, aged 43, but there are an awful lot of Mary E CLARK(E)s around.

From your original post it seems that Mary Esther/Esther Mary was only 11 when she became an orphan, so I wonder if she was one of the many children sent to Australia?

The British Home Children database shows a Mary Clark aged 16 aboard the Corsican departing Liverpool on 14 May 1908 and arriving in Quebec on 23rd, sent by the Liverpool Sheltering Home, Mrs. Birt.

No idea if its her but could be worth looking into further, if that's possible?

Quebec is of course Canada, who also received Home Children... I'm having a bad day! But you get the idea!!
 
Not in Quebec, but there is a Marey Ester Clark aged 26 buried in 1920 at Union Cemetery, Sturgeon Falls, Nipissing, Ontario. The information is from the Canadian Headstones site (linked through from FmP), but for reasons unknown I can't access the images to see who else, if anyone, is on the headstone.

@janetbooth , thank you aain. Yes I have John Alexander from 1921. I actually tried to edit original post to mention I may be wrong as he claimed both parents still alive, but for some reason it didn't go through. I was having many probs with the forum that day with it going off for a few seconds with "error" warning.
I did see a death for Mary E. in hampstead but as you say there were so many.

@Andromeda, Many thanks for yours too. I also saw some shipping with a Mary E Clark but listed as 'Mrs' & only incoming. I didn't see any for Australia of consider such -my loss there. I shall go back to Canada info from that end & see what may be had.
Familysearch may have something more if others so not.
