Hi all,

Mick iow here and as the name suggests, I live on the Isle of Wight, have been happily retired nearly 5 years after working for 49, as a mechanic and then for an Health Authority.

Am divorced and live alone with my very friendly dog "Charlie” he a male Patterdale crossed with a Terrier Border and was born December 2010, is a happy friendly dog with humans and other dogs.

It is only Charlie, and volunteering for Age UK that stops me spending more awake hours on the computer!

I use the paid for version of "Brother's Keeper" on my computer, it is the first and only one I tried.

Have been researching my family around 10 years am still making mistakes and learning from them.

Hello Mick - welcome to Top Dog! C|:-)

It is great to see another dog-lover on the forum - they certainly fill our lives, don't they? Along with family history research, it makes you wonder how you ever had the time to go to work!

Have a good rootle round, post your questions and we will do all that we can to help.

Have fun!

Hi Mick and welcome to our forum C|:-)
I visited the IOW many years ago - have a penfriend there - lovely place from what I can remember, especially the trip around The Needles.
Sounds as if Charlie's a great companion :)

Hi Mick

It's learning from mistakes that's the art of it.

Have just discovered a mistake I made about 5 years ago ... it's all right now, I think!

Knock it off eh;)

Welcomre Mick - this is from me - The Artful Dodger - and for a few years we spent vacations [1947-1951] in the I.o.W . Bet it has changed since then.

I hope you have fun here researching your family. Most of mine seem to be perpetual headaches. We all make mistakes - but that's life.

The thrill of victory is what keeps us going.
Colin
