New and very much an amateur

Hello All,

Found this site by luck whilst hopping around the internet of things.

Started researching my family lines late 2017.

I am a Newell born and bred East London UK, with my roots from Guilden Morden Cambridgeshire.

Looking to chat / discuss with anyone who can directly cross reference with my family lines, and looking to improve my approach and effectiveness in researching.
Enjoy your searching

Kind regards

John James Newell

I think I pressed Send to soon on previous reply. I know a fair bit about
Guilden Morden Newells - I have built up quite an extensive tree. I'm more interested in Wrestlingworth and Tadlow which is where my Newell ancestors come from. If you are still interested in searching your family, let me have your email and I'll send through some stuff and we can see what we can do together.

Dear John,

I just found the post above. I am a Newell with origins in Wrestlingworth and tadlow. I know a lot about the newells in Guilden Morden and Steeple morden which I'd be happy to share with you.

Hi Susan,
Thanks a lot for your reply and offer of assistance.
I am stumped on a John Newel / Newell from Guilden Morden Cambridgeshire. Died 1828 there and married there. Calculate his birth as 1780, but can not find any accurate and certifiable info of birth etc. May of course born out of the county, really want to stay away from guessing. Does your cousin do family history stuff? confidence not very high of connection but you never know.

Be glad to hear from you.

Kind regards
John J Newell

John was born c1770. Married mary Pearce 1801 in GM. a blacksmith, like many Newells in the area. They had six children. Where do you fit? Colin
