My name is Annie I was born in Leyland Lancs we moved to my Mothers hometown of Chester when I was a teenager. I have been researching my family for over 20 years but with many breaks. I have done well with some branches with help from long distance. cousins I met through LDS. I have made some progress with my Farrell branch due to the renewed interest in the 1st World War. Two of my great Uncles died within a couple of months of one another, I found a memorial posted online from the St Werburghs Church in Chester, they had added some information to my Uncles names which I did not know so that was helpful it made it possible for me to find the grave of my GG Grandfather.
My most difficult task has been and still is searching for my Fathers Father. My father was born in Dundee Scotland in 1893 his Mother was not married when she had him and no fathers name appears on his birth certificate. She came from a wealthy family and after the birth i have not been able to find any information on him till he was 7 and living as a boarder with another family.
I live at present in the US so have done much of my research on the internet, I have had a couple of researchers do work for me but had to stop when it became to expensive. So I am back doing it myself.
