Thought I'd post a general "thank you" rather than cluttering things up with lots of messages - but I am happy to confirm that Daft Bat and Chimp are indeed the wonderful people they say they are. What they are not telling you is that they are both stunningly good-looking as well!

Carole. You mentioned Birmingham. Well, I was born and 'dragged up' there so we may have research subjects in common.

Thanks, Ken. I'll certainly bear that in mind. I never lived there, but all my family - and husband's - did.

I have found the Birmingham History Forum and people's reminiscences about the relatively recent past have thrown some interesting/useful light on my own researches. Thanks for mentioning it though.
