Hi,
been researching WW2 POW Europe and N/Africa since 1992.
Originally worked on those who died as POW at Sea between N/Africa and Italy. The Camps these casualties were held.
Moved on to Escape & Evasion, and have every available Report from the UK National Archives in my database.
Originally intended to copy all the Liberation Reports in the WO 344 Series but only managed 125 or so of the 700+ files until illness has cut my travelling to a minimum.
Last few years moved to Red Cross Reports on Visits to POW Camps and to WAR Crimes.
Anyone who wishes help on the subjects just ask.

My late father was a POW in WW2 and I recently handed over all his papers and memorabilia to the Imperial War Museum (after making copies, of course!)

Thanks for the Welcome Ann,
my Father was Captured in N/Africa and died as a POW on the S S Scillin 14/11/1942 when she was sunk by a British Submarine.
All my research on this sinking along with the list of 787 casualties is in The I.W.M also.

Did you get a Liberation Report for your Father.

Hello Brian
I don't think I've ever seen a Liberation Report for my Father, I have a copy of his Release Book, along with many other documents pertaining to his time before, during and after capture (on Crete), so know pretty much all of his Army (RAMC) history.
