Newbie here - researching London ancestors esp.

Hello all -- I have been working on my London ancestors for several years now, but this is my first time here. I hope I will learn new things here and perhaps I can help someone else too.
Surnames are Calf, Courtenay, Deacon, Breach, Purdue, Holmes, Bowen, Bovey. Bowen possibly originally from Shropshire and Courtenay possibly from Hampshire. Calf descendants emigrated to Australia and the U.S. in the 1850s.

Thank you very much, everyone - I really feel welcome! I am in Massachusetts, USA, since someone asked. I should be in England in early October, but for a Courtenay family trip - don't think I will have much time for research, sadly.
