Pearce Family - Ashton Under Lyne

Hi all, I am new to the forum. Firstly I am recently retired, so to keep my brain active I have eventually started my Family Tree. The Majority of my family were based in East Manchester in the late 1890's. and they seemed to move over to Blackpool as Family's Purchasing Bed and Breakfast Businesses The Only Really Confirmed ancestor is Dr Charles (Coroner for the Area) Who moved to Liverpool with His House Keeper. He left his wife and moved Leaving Properties in Oldham/Ashton/Hurst/Lees etc. On census he lived on Warrington St / Wellington St / Mosseley Rd. Others within the family are the Miller's / Shaw's / Wild's / Hilton's & Ogden's There seems to be a Large home cottage industry of Silk Weavers that were related to other families in Norfolk the were Silk Importers. I believe Grotton Hall was part of the family estate but there is little knowledge. So Obviously I am looking for any information. Email or Messages would be gratefully appreciated. Well it's been a busy nearly two years and I am shocked by how much I have uncovered
Firstly My Paternal / Maternal Line was fascinating The Pearce Family Who originally were named "Miller" Through marriage of Esther Miller to Dr Charles Pearce of Whiteacre with Esther being a daughter to Aaron Miller a renowned Undertaker from Hurst as a family business that was at least 4 Generations I located a piece written by Aaron which detailed life in the area and opened the flood gates from his recollections all those years ago: See

 The length of the story is extensive so it may be easier to right click & Read Aloud for those members interested in the growth of Ashton under Lyne. I have found so many Gentry and Royal Lines in the overall research it's been totally engrossing. I Shall carry on and look forward to logging in again in the future.

I have lots of Pearces around the Midlands so we might share a connection! My people are Hervey/Harvey up to the 1840s, then Walker to the present; Lawrence, Dolman, Worrall, Dickins, Cadby, Boden.
