I wondered if it had been deleted because I said I was losing the will to live over Arthur :D

Any posts that I delete - and it is rare that I do - result in a message from me to the poster explaining why the post was deleted. :)

It'll be just one of those unexplained mysteries that in years to come someone will make a tv programme out of and say there was a conspiracy or aliens took it :D

Last night when I tried to check any new posts I got told by Firefox the site was not safe - a huge yellow warning, so I tried on my phone and got a similar message, so something strange happened around 11 last night:nailbiting::ghost:

I was relieved to find nothing amiss this morning - phew!

If I remember correctly, I answered you and said ‘don’t do that it’s just a certificate’ and something else that escapes me now :ghost:

So- youall, do you not get emails of your messages that you can now check back on- or in History perhaps?
I thought your were referring to the GRO having a missing entry. Many of those about. As for the 1939 register, many of mine put the batism date or perhaps a birthday they remember from way back. Some outright lie. The good old GRO & Baptism records refute many.

Do you know when Mary Elizabeth died? Was it in 1972?

Yes that was her year of death. On the 39 register her date of birth is given as 29 Jul 1899 on her death cert it is given as 29 Jul 1902. Her birth was registered in the Clun R.D. in Sept 1902. She was the daughter of Charles and Alice Maud Bufton (nee Morris)

As we are now speaking of his wife, I think I had the wrong parents for her. Have now scrubbed them.

Charles Bufton married Alice Maud Morris in 1897 in Clun (just sent for the marriage cert)

    Alice Maud can be found:-

    1891- RG12, Piece 2085, Folio 27, Page 6
Mount Cottage, Mardu Lane, Clun, Shropshire

Susanna Morris, Head, Widow, 81, 1810, Shropshire, England
Bessy Morris, Daughter In Law, Married, 44, 1847, Presteigne, Radnorshire
Alice Morris, Niece, Single, 12 1879, Pontypool, Monmouthshire

Charles and Alice's 2nd child Edward Thomas Bufton was born 1899 in Clun. His place of residence at the time of his baptism is Mardu

There is a birth in Pontypool:-

    MORRIS, ALICE MAUD EVANS
GRO Reference: 1879 S Quarter in PONTYPOOL Volume 11A Page 140

    I can't find them in 1881

Now I thought I had posted this the other night, but it probably is another that vanished:ghost:

I tried to find the Rosberry link, and all I came up with was a marriage in 1877 of an Edward Raspberry Morris - Mar qtr 1887 Bedwelty 11a 9[38] Freebmd,
FMP has it as page 98 - He married Margaret Davies 1891 census RG12/4359/134/13

Edward was bap 26/2/1851 as Edward Rusbatch Morris son of John and Catherine at Rhymney Monmouthshire

He died in Merthry Tydfil in 1895

Whether this has any relevance to your family I have not discovered yet!

Maybe this is Alice Maud with her parents and siblings in 1881

RG11/5251/68/1 - 4 Railway Parade, Trevethin with Pontypool, Pontypool, Monmouthshire.

    Thomas MORRIS (Head) b 1849
    Elizabeth (Wife) b 1849 Presteign
Then six children starting with William born 1864 and ending with Alice M b 1880

Marriage index has a Thomas MORRIS and Elizabeth EVANS on the same page
    Dec Q 1863 Presteigne - 11b/331
