Puzzling Marriage Records

I found the GRO birth record for Robert Bishop that shows his mother as Miss Crabb:

GRO BISHOP, ROBERT CRABB GRO Reference: 1840 S Quarter in BRIDPORT Volume 08 Page 35

However there is a confusing set of records for the Marriage of his parents, who are said to be a Robert Bishop and Charlotte Crabb, supposedly married in Bradford on Avon:
From FreeBMD:

Marriages Sep 1838
BISER Maria Bradford 8 315
BISHER Isaac Bradford 8 315
CRABB Charlotte Bradford 8 315
DUMMER William Bradford 8 315
GYE Elizabeth Bradford 8 315
Morris George Bradford 8 315
NORRIS Henry Bradford 8 315
PEAPELL George Devizes 8 315
SYMES Sarah Bradford 8 315

Maybe Isaac Bisher is Robert Bishop in disguise??

There is also a marriage for a Robert Bishop to another woman in 1840, which I thought might be a second marriage due to the death of the first wife:
Marriages Sep 1840
BISHOP Robert Wareham (Dorset) 8 183
COAK Mary Ann Leak Wareham &c. 8 183
What is going on here? Could someone with access to other records please help sort out these people?

WikiTree has a Robert Bishop marrying Charlotte Crabb in Dorset in 1834
Children are Olive, Abigail, Robert married to Catherine Ellis, Elizabeth, Mary Maria, Job, and Ann Eliza

Thanks Sue, I didn't think of Wikitree as it usually gives me hoards of useless Americans! The Robert Bishop who married Catherine Ellis is the Robert born in 1840, whose marriage and children I have accounted for. The 1834 marriage is a new one on me!

If you're looking at Bradford on Avon, ignore the references beginning with '23'. The correct number is '8', but confusingly, the image of the GRO index available at FreeBMD gives the district as just 'Bradford'. Consequently, the entries have also been indexed under Bradford Yorkshire, for which the '23' reference is correct.

Ancestry have the 1834 marriage and it says catherine crabb at beginning then in signatures it says mark of Charlotte Crabb
one of witnesess is a Thomas Crabb other priscilla slade?

I can't make any Slades fit my tree so she was probably a neighbour of the church etc. Maybe Charlotte's relation?
