I am trying to stop people from nicking my relative and search for their OWN relative!

Mine is:
GRO ROLLASON, SELINA PRICE (mother)
GRO Reference: 1842 J Quarter in DUDLEY UNION Volume 18 Page 280;
with parents John Rollason and Dinah Price.

The other one was born a few years earlier to Sarah Hanks Palmer and Joseph Rollason, since she appears in the 1851 England Census with them:

Josh Rollason, Birth 1804, Head, born Oldbury, Worcestershire, England
Spouse Sarah
Civil parish Dudley, Ecclesiastical parish St John, Town Dudley
County/Island Staffordshire
ED, institution, or vessel ED 1dd
HSN 83, Piece 2033, Folio 226, Page number 24
Household members
Name Age
Josh Rollason 47
Sarah Rollason 43
Selina Rollason 12 ** mystery birth/baptism
Rosanna Rollason 11

Of course there are many versions of the surname- Rollason, Rolleson, Rollison and Rollinson the most common, or with a single L.

I've tried Ancestry, FamilySearch, FreeReg and Wikitree, but no luck.

Could you please save me from having to send endless notes to other people!?

Just to add...

If you look at the 1841 census (Piece 1196, book 13, folio 11, page 15) the family are living at Freebodies in Dudley. Selina is recorded as Sarah.

OK @Daftbat That seems a weird transformation of a name from Selina to Sarah Ann, but I'll run with it as I can't think of a better alternative! Now to tell my record thieves! Thank you!

You're welcome.

It is quite possible, as it is in the early days of census taking, that either Joseph's handwriting was difficult to read and so the enumerator transcribed it incorrectly or... Joseph was not literate and so the enumerator wrote it down incorrectly.

I wonder if Sarah Ann could sound like Selina back in the day with the local accent. That's how my several times great uncle was transcribed as Sarah instead of Pharaoh....
