Signature comparison please

My signature is never the same. I once had to sign something in the presence of the bank manager. I said then, if you check it it won't be the same as any others. She said that if it was exactly the same down to the placement of full stops they would be suspicious, as it would be like I was trying to forge my name. (admittedly I was breaking in a new spider that day and he wasn't quite getting the hang of my scrawl :rolleyes:)
 
In 1876 Sarah may have not long learned to write, over the years most things become more refined, comfortable or just pick up a few lazy/ bad habits. Mine certainly did. No way did I stick to what some school decided I should I should do with my pen. I did what was comfortable & easy for me.

Bits of the rest of the writing look like the 1876 signature, then bits look different. Her name written in the body of the census if different to her signature at the bottom. Thank you for the suggestion though arthurk.
 
I'm def. on the fence and towards the no camp, so I hope I don't fall off. My signature has changed little at the beginning and end and has the same emphasis although the maturity has changed. The h is different, its the little things like size of letters that don't change. The r is different. In school we all learnt a standard way so there will always be similarities, it is the differences that are important. Sorry.

Don't apologise Amle, I'm open to all thoughts. When I think more about it she might not even have filled out the form or even signed it. :)
 
Have you noticed that British scholars tend not to conform to handwriting rules and styles anyway? - unlike America, for instance.

Who knows, bits of the rest of the writing in the body of the census look like the 1876 signature, then bits look different. Her name written in the body of the census is different to her signature at the bottom. Anyway, matters not now I have found her and she was back home.:)
