Verify name please

This chap was a witness at his sister's wedding as was another sister in 1899 at St. Crispin's Bermondsey.
I believe I can read the name given but can not find it anywhere else other than an initial in 1891 census-RG12 / 377 p22.

William F Rider

Cannot find same in FreeBMD or RGO Am wondering why his name would have been changed from the 'F' initial. Can anyne suggest please or at leaast confirm what I have seen? Thank you for any attempts.

I read it as Jacob William Rider, possibly this man:

RIDER, JACOB WILLIAM mmn LOWNIA GRO Reference: 1861 D Quarter in SAINT MARY MAGDALEN BERMONDSEY SURREY Volume 01D Page 71

In 1871 he is in Bermondsey with his parents Richard G and Joanna Rider and three younger siblings. RG10, Piece 634, Folio 49, Page 15

Oh wow,@Andromeda , thank you. I didn't see the initial as a 'J', thought the name was Faroh ! I didn't have enough of Mary Ann's family listed. That will teach me eh? Thanks again

Just popping in to clear up the “William F. Rider” mystery you ran into. Turns out, the wedding witness in 1899 was actually Jacob William Rider, Mary Ann’s older brother. The “F” was a simple misread—his cursive “J” probably looked like an “F” in the register. That’s why you can’t find any William F. Rider in FreeBMD or GRO—he didn’t exist! Jacob was born Dec 1861 in Bermondsey to Richard George Rider and Johanna Lownie. In the 1891 census (RG12/377 p.22), his initials show as J.W., just tricky to read. So feel free to update your records with confidence.
