On a marriage in 1849 this is the address of both parties.

???? Ludlow

Ludlow is in Shropshire about 20 miles from Knighton.

I know they both lived in knighton. I'm not sure what the first word is.

Just an assumption.

Could it possibly be 'Fee Ludlow' as in paying a fee to be married there, or am I just being stupid as usual ?

I’ve just stuck Fee Ludlow in the BNA search thingy and there are lots of ‘hits’, so to speak - Holdgate Fee, Old Gate Fee, Old Fee……. give it a go and see what you think :)

PS You are not stupid

The Shrewsbury Chronicle of the 16th August 1862 has an article which includes the words “Both parties reside in the Fee, Ludlow” :)

From the Shrewsbury Chronicle of the 12th September 1862 “Alfred Pilson, Landlord of the Bay Horse, The Fee, Ludlow…..” :D
