Beatrice Parkinson was born in 1899 in Birkenhead, Cheshire to Parents John and Hannah Parkinson nee Shandley.

She is on the 1921 census living at home with her parents @ 4, Aberdeen Street, Birkenhead, Cheshire. She is a Shop Assistant.

RG 15
Piece number 17163

Also on this census is a granddaughter to John and Hannah, she is named Beatrice Dudley.

Here's where things get messy.

In steps Francis Clough Dudley born 1895, he was a wrong'un. He had married Florence McDonald in 1915 in Everton, Lancashire.

They had 2 children, Francis 1916 and Florence 1918

In 1909 he had been placed in a reformatory

1913 he was sent to Borstal

He was a scrap metal dealer.

He left his wife and was taken to court for lack of maintenance.

On the birth certificate for Beatrice Dudley, born 2nd July 1920 her parents are given as Francis Clough Dudley and Beatrice Parkinson, they are not married.

1921 up in court again but found not guilty due to lack of evidence.

On 18th October 1930 Beatrice Parkinson (1899) Shop Assistant, sets sail for New York onboard the Adriatic. Only her, no sign of any other family members. The last address for her in England is the same as the 1921 census 4, Aberdeen Street, Birkenhead.

Then I lose sight of her altogether.

Anyone?

Both the Master of the Adriatic and the Surgeon signed Affidavits relating to the passengers on board, dated 27 October 1930 - so was that the date the ship arrived?

The ship was landed 12.15 pm 27/10/1930 or that was the time these passengers were signed off the ship. As noted on the manifest. At least that’s how I read it.
The heading on the manifest list with Beatrice has All persons sailing from Liverpool 18/10/1930. She was issued her immigration visa 25/7/1930 and her last address was Birkenhead.

Wonderful, thank you very much ladies.

This is all for my cousin, she asked if I would trace her grandsons tree for him.

The daughter Beatrice Dudley must have gone to Ohio at some point as there are mentions in the papers back in England in 1942 of her marrying Raymond James Hawkey in Cleveland, Ohio, but no specific date given.

Beatrice Dudley went to Ohio in 1937 according to her bio.
