What is the Name?

Hannah S Dunn married John Thompson - they appear together on the 1939 Reg. but there is another name entered for Hannah (with Thompson scored through), so John must have died (they had a child in 1947 so post WW2). Looking for a death of John is
like looking for a needle in a haystack, so I thought I might be able to find Hannah's second marriage but I cannot make out the name.
Can anyone help please?

Yes Anna S seems to be the 1939 entry and then Hanna ? at a later date.

Deptford Kent/London for 1939 (and Hannah's birth 1911 and marriage 1932)

There is a death for an Edward J Ovenell in 1960 in Deptford aged 62 years (birth year c 1898)

In 1940 there was a birth for a John W Thompson with mother's maiden name Dunn.

On the Electoral register for Evelyn Street, Deptford in 1963 is a Hannah Susan Ovenell and with her is a John William Thompson

In 1948 living together in Idonia Street, Deptford is Edward J Ovenell and Hannah Thompson.

The only marriage for OVENELL and DUNN is the one I found in post #4

But... I found a birth in the June qtr 1947 for an OVENELL with mother's maiden name DUNN in the Deptford registration district. This person was on the electoral register of 2014 so I won't print his name. But as he is the only one he can be easily found.

All I could see in 1939 was O'Neil and I just knew that was wrong.

I found a birth in the June qtr 1947 for an OVENELL with mother's maiden name DUNN

That birth is also reg. with the surname Thompson, same year, same district, qtr and number

Hannah and Edward are also together in 1947 (the year the son was born) living in Idonia Street, Deptford

Hmmm.. I wonder why she registered him as Thompson and Ovendell. I guess John Thompson was alive until 1955 when she was then free to marry Edward

It got a little confusing. On the Electoral registers there are 2 Edward J Ovenell's in Deptford.

One is the father and the other is the son.

The father, yours, married Helen R Osborn in 1920. They had a son in 1921 and named him Edward J Ovenell

The son married Rosalind A Howell in 1942. They can be found on the electoral registers.

I think Helen R Ovenell (nee Osborn) died in 1943 aged 42. (that's if I have the right one) her death is under Ellen R Ovenell - Deptford 1d 811
