Who wants to tackle this couple for me in Australia?

James Cock Trethowan was the 2nd of 9 children of James and Jane Trethowan of Constantine, Cornwall who were married 11 June 1833.

James is with his parents and siblings in both 1841 abd 1851 census. In 1858 he left Liverpool on board the Melbourne, arriving Adelaide, South Australia on 6 December 1858. His occupation was a Farm Labourer.

On 13 May 1867 at the Outstation of Mr. Tilley, Avenue Station, Grey District, South Australia, he married Anne Wallis the 16 year old daughter of George Wallis - registration #71/209.

After that event - I can find nothing on FMP or Family Search. As for Ancestry there are a couple of items:
Australia Birth Index 1788-1922 - James Cock Trethowan - page 47, volume 172
Australia Birth Index 1788-1922 - Anne Wallis - page 47, volume 172

I can view the Ancestry item with my sub. but could this be a birth registration of a child for them?

He is a 2nd cousin. Thanks

Sometimes I think people just pick names out of thin air.
Looking around I find that an Emma Elizabeth Trethowan daughter of James and Annie, born I know not when or where is supposed to have married Herbert Richard Hams, a marriage I can't find. Then I find that according to information Herbert Richard Hams died in 1870. I found the birth for a Herbert Richard Hams in Kapunda South Australia son of John Hams and Jane Ackland 1 August 1869 79/359

o.k. I am going to try to upload a file - o.k. I couldn't do it so I will just have to type in the information:
Ooops, sorry, it was the wrong Trethowan. These were the children of James and Ellen Trethowan.

"Who wants to tackle this couple in Australia"? Silly question!!;)
No births in South Australia so far...will keep looking around though. :)

Well enjoy the hunt. Any idea what the items were that I saw?

Meant to do this post last night but forgot to hit the green box - so will comment - "you all seem to have enjoyed the hunt".

Will review and advise later.

Was this James and Ellen nee Saville who were married in Constantine 16 April 1840 and had 5 children between 1840 and 1850 and then went to Oz where their 6th - Elizabeth - was born in Ballarat in 1856 and died in Ballarat 1 Jan. 1862?

If so was Elizabeth their last child?

James was my 4X great uncle and according to my research was the son of Richard and Elizabeth nee Pascoe who were my 4X great grandparents.

Answered my own question - 3 children born in Ballarat between 1858 and 1863.

They must have arrived between the baptism of Ellen Saville Trethowan 14 Aug. 1853 and the birth of Elizabeth in 1856 - but I cannot find them.

Yeh! Found a birth for James Cock Trethowan and Ann Wallis
James Wallis TRETHOWN South Australia, Grey 1876 172/47
Can't find Emma yet

This and the death in 1907 in Warren for John C. Trethowan that crazycatlady22 found - see post 5 is, I believe the end for my John Cock Trethowan.

I have no idea how far Warren, N.S.W is from Grey, S.A where his son was born and the notice from the N.S.W. Government Gazette doe not appear to have been transcribed on FMP.

As for Anne Wallis, I have not found a death that looks promising.

I also have not found anything on James Wallis Trethowan apart from his birth.

I have an old book that shows some Station names. Avenue Station is near Millicent in South Australia. Millicent is a little north-west of Mt Gambier. The Grey District covers, now, about 90,000 square kilometres and is an electoral district and registration district. Warren is in Central NSW just north-west of Dubbo.

I have been searching for his grave in Warren. According to the Warren Council there are 4 Cemeteries but I have only found two so far. No Trethowan so far. I will have a look at Dubbo.

There is a funeral notice in the Sydney Morning Herald dated 26 Oct 1891 for Mrs. Ann Trethowan. Children mentioned are Priscilla and Alice, William and Charles.

Lots of other family notices. I will keep looking.
