Who wants to tackle this couple for me in Australia?

Victoria Electoral Register 1939
Elizabeth Emma, Herbert John and Herbert Richard HAMS were at 207 Arthur Street, Batman Division.

Victoria Electoral Register 1946
Elizabeth Emma, Wallis Richard and Herbert Richard HAMS were at 207 Arthur Street, Batman Division.

The Division of Batman is an Australian Electoral Division in the state of Victoria. The division was created in 1906, replacing the Division of Northern Melbourne.

So it did Sue. My excuse is I don't know Victoria and it was only written next to Herbert Richard's name on the record I found ;)

You aren't supposed to know Victoria. That's what we are here for, so as you don't take wrong turns. At least you can pronounce most of the names and don't need an interpreter like I do in Wales.;)

Believe me, some of the Welsh names I have problems with too. (I think a dyslexic person made up most of the names)

Thank you Terry and Sue for the exquisite details on the family of Herbert Richard and Elizabeth Emma Hams.

I think I can add a bit more:
1] Arthur Stanley was born in Hopetoun in 1897 - registration #10091 - appears to never married and died in Castlemaine, Victoria in 1953 - registration #22624.
2] Edgar William was born in Echuca in 1899 - registration #3983 - and married Isabel Mary Grant in 1928 - registration #628. He died in Preston, Victoria in 1980 - registration #14812. Isabel Mary died in Preston in 1985 - registration #31021 - she was 86.

The 2 that died young were both born in Fairfield and likely died there - Walter George born [1906 registration #2928] and died [1909 registration 1375] - and - Ethel May born [1910 registration #2956] and died [1912 registration #5511].

Their eldest was registered as Herbert John born Netherby in 1895 registration #14715. It appears that he married Rhoda Melissa Lee in 1922 registration #5729. A Rhoda Melissa Hams died in 1935 - registration #432 - and a possible remarriage of Herbert John to Marie Woodhead in 1940 - registration #18257. A Marie died in 1986 - registration #15597.
Apart from a death in Mildura, Victoria in 1935 registration #16651, I can't find anything suitable for his death.

From what I can discover on either FMP or Ancestry for Victoria -
Ancestry
Births - 1788-1922
Marriages - 1788-1950
Deaths - 1787-1985.

and
FMP
Births - 1836-1913
Marriages - 1836-1942.
Deaths - 1836-1985

I don't think Ancestry and FMP are as up to date as the official site. Also, with Ancestry there have been some index records which I know exist but can not find. That may just be dodgy indexing on their part or they may have missed some.

Until I was made aware of the official site, those were the ones I had used.
