Who were William's parents?

William Booton (1862'ish) married Ann Bateman (1852'ish) in Market Bosworth, Leicestershire in 1889, Ann had been married previously to Peter Bateman who had died in Bagworth, Leicestershire in 1885.

Is there a way of finding out who William Booton's parents were without having to purchase the marriage certificate.

Edited to add. Ann's maiden name was Gamble.

A few starting points...

A William BOOTON was born in Market Bosworth in the December quarter of 1862, Mmn SPERRY (vol 7a, page 75).

The 1871 census shows a William BOOTON, wife Mary with children Francis (b 1853), Charlotte (1860) and William (1862) living at Barleston Lane, Market Bosworth (Piece 3241, folio 16, page 25).

Mary was born in Bagworth, Leicestershire.

There is a marriage that took place on 20th August 1850 in Bagworth between a William BOOTON and Mary SPERRY.

Well would you Adam & Eve it, I've searched all day for the marriage in 1889 on FMP, now I've asked the question I've found it Tuh'

It wouldn't pick it up for me until I just did a search on all the Booton's by date.

I don't know if you've seen this Terry, but FindAGrave has a photo of the gravestone for William and Mary Booton in Holyrood Churchyard, Bagworth - possibly William Booton's (b.1862) parents?
