Why can't I find this Marriage?

Am I doing something wrong?
WW1 Service Record for JOSEPH CLARRICOATS shows this:


I've found his birth (Joseph Loveday CLARRICOATS Q3 1860 Sleaford)
He served with Commissariat & Transport, Sept 1882-1894


But I cannot find a Marriage record between those dates ...
HELP!

(And I didn't search pre-1881 because his next of kin on enlistment were his siblings. DUH!)
