Yet another deciphering please.

Findem

The Fearless One. Rest in Peace.
The entry I'm interested in is Richard Sewell son of Edward and Mary baptised 1708 at Great Leighs Essex.

The entry is the last one on the first page, however what I'm after is the date of the entry above Richard's and the one after which is on the top of the second page, if not the day and month I'd be happy with just the month.

Since there is not a day and month in Richard's entry I'm hoping the other two entries might provide a clue, I do realise it's a pig of an entry.

Any thoughts gratefully received.

Oops again, my brain lags behind my fingers.

Crossed fingers here, but May 23 1708 for the one above. The one above that is April and September 27 for the first one next page.

Oh well that's narrowed it down to somewhere between 23 May 1708 and 27 Oct 1708, :)

Honestly, some of those Rectors or Parish Clerks or whoever need a darn good flogging. :)

Think you might be right Sandie, I've been mulling over 23 May thinking the same as you Sandie, that perhaps the recorder left it blank to indicate Richard's baptism was on the same day as the entry above it. I'm considering entering his baptism date as 23 May 1708 and attach an explanatory note, including the before and after entries.
