Yet another photo for you to date!

Our very own Cornish Maid
Another photo from my granma's album (1896-1983, Arnold, Nottingham & Skidby, E Yorkshire).
This photo has "Mr & Mrs DUCKER" written on the back.
My great-granma's sister married a DUCKER in 1882/1883 - but would this be a photo of them? (He was a Farm Labourer - this man seems rather too dapper ... but if it was his wedding-day, he would have made an effort).
Or would it be later - their son's wedding perhaps in 1908?

I am useless at knowing when cameras became common-place ... but was it as early as this? And was it their wedding? She's not wearing the dress I would expect. And look at her shoes! Aren't they fancy?

Any ideas on a rough date, folks?

Thanks for looking

I'm not a photo expert, but I think this looks more like it was taken in the 20's, 30's or 40's. Shorter dress for example. During war times people didn't have fancy weddings.
Wow! I wouldn't have thought Ducker was such a common surname... I searched for men named Ducker from the areas you mentioned in the =/- 10 years from 1935 and there were several. Especially in Nottingham. Looks like an early Spring wedding... lack of leaves on the trees...

I would have said mid to late 1920's? Or maybe later if they couldn't afford to keep up with fashion......

As another complete non expert I agree with Sue and Ann, possibly the late rather than mid 1920's. The bride's outfit is very similar to one worn by my grandmother's niece for her wedding in 1928, while the groom's hat makes him look like a Chicago gangster, a style beloved by my father in law during that period, but strictly forbidden by his parents.

I have photo of my dad taken with his parents when he was about 5. He was born in 1920 and although his dad is wearing spats It looks just like my grandparents in that photo. I would say it was taken sometime mid to late 20's. Lovely photo though.
