The Fearless One. Rest in Peace.
William Webster als Wilkinson named his first child Katherin and the second child Mary.
Going to be brave and make a couple of predictions!
1) As the groom was named William Webster als Wilkinson in the marriage to Mary Wigg, plus naming a child Mary (didn't everyone I hear you mutter), William and his wife Mary Wigg are my ancestors.
2) The mother of William Webster als Wilkinson will be a Katherin and a Webster.
If the William at London and the William at Sawbridgeworth are one and the same (please oh Lord make it easy for me) who was the person with the big mouth who informed the vicars in both locations that William was illegitimate? Probably at the time could be identified as the person with a black eye or two and teeth missing.
All joking aside it does make one think about how William's illegitimacy could follow him around, after all it's not as though St Gregory London was in the next door parish to Great St Mary Sawbridgeworth.
