I don’t think its Richard either because who is the wife? Rose? If so then the R is different.I'm not convinced that it's "Richard" ... but can't see an alternative
Am off to check.I agree with Ann, and after Rose it might be 'his', in which case the entry could quite possibly continue with 'wife', which we can't see.
Does the format of other entries on the page suggest the use of "and ... his wife"? And does it look as though others have been cut short in the image?

Detective you is.The R on Richard only looks different because his quill ran out of ink. You can see the blob where he had re-dipped and started the leg of the R.
