It gives his age as 47, giving a birth of 1886.
The only birth I can find for an Enoch Tranter in 1886 +/- 1 year is Enoch Tranter born 07 Nov 1885 in Essington, Staffordshire. (Essington to Short Heath is about 3 miles) This Enoch was the illegitimate son of Elizabeth Tranter. Elizabeth was the daughter of William and Sarah Ann Tranter nee Baugh.
In 1891 this Elizabeth (single) can be found living with her parents at Front Lane, Willenhall, Wolverhampton. Also in the household is a 5 year old Enoch Tranter, grandson to the head.
I can't find Enoch in the 1901 or 1911 census to check the age he says he was then.
Did Elizabeth marry and Enoch take his stepfather's name until his marriage ?
Can anyone tell Enoch's cause of death. (he was a coal miner)
