Benjamin Dennis and Elizabeth Fine. Where were they baptised?

Genie1

Cornish to the Core
They married 8 Feb 1774 in Camborne and witnesses were Henry Bennatts and George Lemon.
I have found four children at the moment but I want to find the places of birth of Benjamin and Elizabeth.

The only Benjamin Dennis I can see on Cornwall opc is
at Sithney
1747 Dec 6 DENNIS Benjamin s Henry & Ann

At Camborne there is the marriage of
1753 Jan28 Nicholas FINE & Jane CARTER
and their children - I cannot see a burial for first Elizabeth so would
presume the first to be a private baptism and the second admitted to
church.

Another Carter popping up.
A son of Benjamin is named Henry so maybe after his father.

If this is your Benjamin Dennis post #2 born 1747, then he is said to be the son of Henry Dennis born 1723 and Ann Trevithick born 1723. Looking a FS tree and working back, Ann Trevithic is descended from my Gregory Trevithick 1615 and Dorothy Pryor 1626. :D Possible distant relative of mine is your Benjamin Dennis.

If Benjamin Dennis born 1747 is mine he is my he is my 5 x g.grandfather.
I haven't found anyone else yet.
Some of the children that I have found married those with the surname Harris. At some point I shall have to see if the Harrises were related to each other.
The son of Benjamin and Elizabeth liked the name so much that it did carry through a couple of times.
My line is through Ann the daughter of Elizabeth and Benjamin and she is probably on this site somewhere.

At Sithney, Henry Dennis married Ann Trevithick 1746 Jan 1.
Henry is buried in 1764, just one year following the baptism
of their last child.
I cannot see either a burial or a re-marriage of his widow, Ann
at Sithney However there is a burial of an Ann Dennis, widow at
Camborne who is a candidate. That together with Benjamin's
age at burial at Cambourne in 1838, matching his birth date
at Sithney and his wife Elizabeth's age at death matching her
birth date as Elizabeth Fine, suggests either widow Ann Dennis
moved to Cambourne because son Benjamin was there or she
moved there taking a young Benjamin with her!

I have just looked at Cornwall opc and the baptism surname Dennis starts in 1629 in Camborne and the surname Trevithick starts in Camborne 1696.
Perhaps they moved from Camborne to Sithney and back again.

Although many years later.there is a death on 04 Jun 1894 Ann Dennis at Camborne and the executor or administrator is J Carter Registry Bodmin.
Is there any point in getting the will?

Ann Trevithick 1723 who married Henry Dennis and parents of Benjamin Dennis was the daughter of Gregory Trevithick and Ann Richards. Ann is the sister if Richard Trevithick 1730 who is my 5xgreat grandfather. So Ann is my 5xgreat Aunt, or something like that. So @Genie1 we share some ancestors. :D
Our families are getting ever bigger.:)
Are your Trevithicks related to Richard Trevithick 1771 - 1883? He was the inventor of the high pressure steam engine.

Yes and so are yours. He is there in the tree but way back. I did find him once. His father was also Richard, son of John Trevithick, who is descended from Gregory Trevithick and Dorothy Pryor, these two are in my tree.

Well yes, Gregory and Dorothy had just two children,
Henry 1647 Jan 17 Wendron and Gregory 1651 Nov 30
Wendron.
Gregory marries Christian somebody 1688 Aug 16 Sithney.
They have 3 children, Christian 1689 Sep 2 Sithney,
Gregory (lost my notes but baptised and buried 1692 Wendron)
and Gregory 1693 Feb 11 Sithney.
Father Gregory dies 1712 Sithney, Will transcript and Inventory
available on Cornwall OPC, Henry mentioned.
A Will for Henry listed on Cornwall OPC for 1727 Sithney. Have
you got that Will @Archie's Mum?
So Engineer could well descend from him.

Gregory and Dorothy have 4 children, Henry 1647, Gregeory 1651, Christian 1653, and John 1663.
No, dont have a will at all.
To make it a little easier my GGGrandmother was Jane Trevithic. She married George Nancarrow. Her parents were Henry Trevithic and Elizabeth Tonkin. His father was William Trevithic and mother Mary Courage. Williams parents were Richard Trevithic and Charity Pryor. Richard was the son of Gregory Trevithic and Ann Richards. Then we have Gregory Trevithic and Christain?

Which area did the Nancarrows come from? I have a Nancarrow that married an Osborne . Both from Redruth. Died in Silverbow .Montana.

Jane Carter wasn't related to Hannah Carter that had daughter Amelia Jane Carter who married into the Beare family at Camborne.
Posts about both families are on this site.

I should have asked if Jane Carter was related to Hannah Carter.:oops:

To clarify that for @Genie1
at Ruan Major
1718 Nov 20 Gregorie TREVITHICK of Sithney
& Anne RICHARDS of Landewenack

Their children at Sithney

1720 Aug 24 Christian
1723 Nov 23 ANN
1725 Nov 3 Jone
1727 Feb 16 William
1730 May 19 RICHARD
1737 May 31 Mary
1739 Dec 26 Jenifer

All of these the son or daughter of Gregory except the last
which is Gregory & Ann

I will look again at the further children of Gregory & Dorothy,
I think I saw that in trees but don't trust them, just use them
as a guide.
Recently doing the Cannon family of Babcary, found a Baptism
on 1752 of a John and two marriages for a John, one to a Mary 1777
and one to an Ann 1776. All 80 trees on Ancestry chose the latter.
All 80 trees are wrong as I can show from Deeds.
The reason is a parish the family frequently used has lost its
Registers prior to 1813!

All I have used for this is Cornwall OPC. Looking at all their
listings for Wendron 1647- 1664, it is apparent the transcriber
struggled! If so they have Christian Gragson daughter of Wm
for 1653. There are other possible children including a Dorothy
in 1658 if they are that poor! Are the originals on Familysearch?
