Having just found Caillebout as a valid original spelling for Calybute, I discovered his grandmother had the name Elizabeth Churlacare (1541- 1601) in Lancashire. Nowhere seems to yield even a vague semblance to the name! Ancestry flashed up a different name like Tallatare before covering the screen with the advice I should return to Ancestry Australia where I was more likely to find my relatives. (I HATE this message). Even Mr Google told me there was nothing and AskChatGPT wanted me to pay even before I searched. Any ideas on the originally intended surname? I thought something French like the grandson, Calybute Downing.
