Can anyone find the family connection?

But George names only Sarah and Bridget as his sisters, why not Mary Ann too?

There is a will and codicil for Bridget Budgen who died on 29th June 1879 in Frant. Her executors are William Banks, Knighton and Arthur Chesterton of Kensington. William Banks used to own the woolen factory in Knighton.

Bridgets husband Thomas died in 1861. His will wasn't proved until 1879.

Does seem strange that George James should be buried with the Breeze's and both he and Mary Ann call Bridget Budgen their sister.

Maybe we should try to find who Bridget's parents were. Easier to research than Thomas, Sarah or George.
I'm off for most of the day to a funeral. Best I turn my phone off so as not to yield to temptation.

If we knew what Bridget's maiden name was it may help. Can't find a marriage.

Thomas Budgen married Bridget James 12th September 1831 in Knighton.
Supposedly born 1795 according to FS on her burial at Ticehurst.
So if Mary Ann married in 1806 and Bridget was born in 1795 then Mary Ann was a fair bit older than Bridget. Maybe Mary Ann is George James and siblings step sister. :nailbiting:

There is a Death notice in the Hereford Times 11 February 1854>

"Jan 24, at Knighton, aged 65, Miss Sarah James, deservedly esteemed. The respect due to an old inhabitant was manifested by the closing of the tradesmen's shop windows throughout the town when she was interred. She was sister-in-law to to the late high-sheriff of the county, Edward Breeze, Esq., deceased."

Bridget James baptised 10th August 1794 at Knighton, parents Thomas and Mary.
The other siblings are George, Sarah and Thomas. Thomas, Sarah and Bridget are noted in George's will. Would be able to see if you can find them too? Please, pretty please!

Speaking of High Sheriffs. I found somewhere yesterday Edward Breeze's name mentioned in a google book as not the High Sheriff at that stage but something else just under that appointment. Also mentioned for Monmouthshire or Mongomeryshire (I think), it started with 'M' was the name James Davies as holding the same appointment.

Highly unlikely but there is a marriage of a Mary James to a John Davies 26th May 1799 Llanthewy Rythech Monmouthshire. A stab in the dark, I know.
