Handwriting help please

Not sure if I have Scottish in me or not, my great great grandmother was a Campbell.....was this a purely Scottish name or was it just a name? Never really have figured out where her ancestors came from.

"The name Campbell is traditionally understood as entirely Scottish in origin. However, both the Campbell name and dynasty have their roots in Ireland, particularly in the province of Ulster.

Geographically, Ulster and Scotland are divided by a narrow strait (Kintyre), and from the earliest times there was a shared language and culture. The very name Scotland means ‘the land of the Irish’, and Irish was the language spoken in Scotland.

The origins of the name Campbell lie in the Irish (Gaelic) language – from the Irish words for Cam = crooked, and Beál = ‘mouth’. The term ‘crooked mouth’ doesn’t refer to a physical trait, but to lying or making false promises."

As clear as mud, let me read that again......

Not sure I have this right, but here goes...

Thomas Rice was asking for help, he was living with his wife Margaret Rice (nee Bonar). They are telling us that Margaret Rice (nee Bonar) was the daughter of Robert Bonar and his wife Margaret Docherty, then telling us that Margaret Docherty (Roberts wife and Margret Rice's mother) was dead ?

So that's where EastEnders got their scriptwriters.....

For what it's worth my first impression was pauper,, it does seem an odd way to phrase the note though "living with pauper and Margaret Docherty dead".

Jasper would make more sense but it would be hard to see the third letter as a s rather than a u, add to that the examples of the writer's J that Sis posted.
