Hello from Canada

Mrs Huma

Canadian Cousin!
Hi all,

I live in Victoria BC Canada. I have been seriously addicted/obsessed with genealogy for about 25 years. I started with my Sage family (dad's side) that came over to Vancouver Island under a 5 year contract with the Hudsons Bay Company in 1854 and have branched out on everyone and everything. They came from Somerset.

I've added on my mom's side (they come from Suffolk and London or MDX). I have added Wales (my Jones g grandfather).

I also do all the genealogy lines for my hubby, so I think we cover about 1/2 the counties.

I haven't found any Scottish or Irish in my line, but you never know.

If anyone needs help for British Columbia in Canada, please ask. I have access to the BC Archives and the University of Victoria. I can get birth, marriage, death registrations and newspapers.

Mrs Huma :reading: :nailbiting: ;)

A very warm welcome to the forum, Mrs Huma and thank you for your generous offer for BC assistance. :)

I see that you are finding your way round, so keep posting and we will do all that we can to help.

Yep - obsession is the right word....o_O

Thanks Terry! You may wish me gone after you read my new post for Jones in Wales. Kind of like a needle in a haystack. LOL
Wendy

Welcome aboard From one Mrs H to another, you'll soon settle in and find that we are a friendly, helpful bunch with a few nuts along the way :D Oh and we tend to go off piste quite a bit (we blame Chimpy:rolleyes:)

Believe me Wendy, I've had a John Smith  and members of this forum have helped me sort it out :)

Thanks everyone! Like I said in my 'New to Forum', between my hubby and myself, we cover about 1/2 the counties in England. And for him, there might be Scottish and Irish. Wendy

Welcome in Mrs Huma,- Wendy- [we can use another of those].
I have had great luck in finding Family in Lethbridge via newspapers when I had a world sub for Ancestry. Family was also in Medicine Hat, Alta to Nth Saanich & Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Looking forward to a scrounge around for your Welsh folk, but 1st must get ready for more tradies coming in today for a few hours work.
Enjoy!
