Hello from Canada

Welcome Wendy of BC!! I am on the outskirts of Toronto (Brampton) and another member (Sue) is north of me in Owen Sound.

Appreciate your offer of help out on the West Coast. And your knowledge of things like the Drouin Collection. I only get into that when it is a free weekend, lol. Hubby's mother was from Montreal.

The *stars* on here found all of them for me and also their ancestors in England.

Cheers.....Heather

Welcome Wendy!
As Figgs stated I live in Owen Sound, but I am a proud BC'er. I have just returned from my 45 year reunion at my high school in Salmon Arm.
Thanks for your offer. I may take you up on some folks..I did manage to get a couple I was looking for from the Vancouver library micro fische when I was there 2 weeks ago. I use the Victoria museum online records a lot, but sometimes they don't have the originals copied. (
Now I know why...almost impossible to read  )

Thanks for all the welcomes everyone. I have 25 years of research under the old belt and am always game to sniff out 'new' stuff. My retirement has seen many, many hours of it. My hubby calls it 'playing in the dead people'. Gruesome but true.
Send the BC questions my way.
Wendy :)

Hi Sue!

BC Archives will be doing a major upload very soon. I replied to a generic email that I received and got a reply quite quickly from the guy who heads up the computer liaison with BC Vital Stats. I pointed out to him that genealogists were very disappointed that the Archives was behind by the specific number of years and he did agree.

I make lists of the documents that are not online and go and get them every once in a while. I spend a couple of hours and hubby likes to come along and do the newspaper articles, marriages and obits, etc.

So if you know the names you need, birth, marriage or death, I will have a look.

This last paragraph is for anyone, including arryboy. I haven't found Frances yet. :(

Must take a break, hubby needs a snooze and computer is in the bedroom.

Wendy ;)
