Sandie - Is your friend's grandfather the James Hextall who died in Nottingham dist, Jun Q 1968? Or is that a different James? This James was recorded as 65 at death giving a dob of 1903 and so possibly the James Exhall b 1903 mentioned in post #9.I am at present doing my friends tree, some of her family are from Nottinghamshire and some from Ireland...........I thought Ireland would be hard but no found all easily but Nottingham is proving very difficult.
Her father was James Hextall born 1926 sent for birth and found parents James Hextall and Hilda Amanda Clarke. After searching in Vain I sent for their marriage cert which turned out to have James name down as Exall!
