This is just another of my very many brick walls. I have John Holdsworth who was born about 1823 in Bradford. His Father was John Holdsworth also from Bradford.
I have found in 1841 Address Brick House, Rawdon Guiseley
John Holdsworth age 50 occupation farmer born Bradford
Ann Holdsworth age 55
Jonathan Holdsworth age 25
John Holdsworth age 15
in 1851 Woodhall Hills,
John Holdsworth age 66 farmer of 50 acres born Bradford
Ann Holdsworth (wife) age 72 born Heaton
William Holdsworth (son) age 29 born Heaton
In 1851 living nearby at Stone Stile
Jonathan Holdsworth age 35 born Heaton
I have not been able to find a marriage for John Holdsworth and Ann, but have found one for John Holdsworth and Nancy Jackson 15 July 1812 Bradford.
Their children were:
John Holdsworth bapt. 30 March 1823
Jonathan Holdsworth bapt 19 July 1815
William Holdsworth bapt 13 May 1821 [no more information known]
Hannah Holdsworth bapt 19 Mar 1813 A/A
Alice Holdsworth bapt 19 Oct 1817 A/A
John Holdsworth [the elder] was buried 22 December 1858 at St. Wilfrids Church, Calverley. By this time it seems that the whole family is living in Calverley.
In 1861 my John Holdsworth and his wife and family are living next to Ann Holdsworth who is by then a widow aged 82 Retired Farmers Wife.
So, what I really want to know is -- could my Ann Holdsworth [Nancy Jackson].
