Getting back to Samuel George Axam. Seems he has a brother Arthur born and died in 1900. Perhaps he felt the need to keep him alive through him, his big brother.:(
And it seems Samuel George Axam 1880 died as Arthur S Axam in 1941 age 61. Is that correct?
I thought something on those lines at the beginning, but then thought, was he using a familiar name for other reasons?? Why get married as Samuel G, use Arthur on 1911 Census, Samuel G on 1921 Census, but be trading as Arthur in 1928 when the fire happened at the Census address, then appears on 1939 Reg apparently living with son William in Greenwich, then dies as Arthur S in 1941? added to this is the unresolved marriage of a Samuel G to Clara Gerrans in Sep 1914 and recorded as such on 1921 Census & 1939 Reg. to me it looks possible he had dual identities :sceptical:
or we have 2 different people but, that seems unlikely.

Or am I completely up a Gumtree o_O
