It can be very difficult to track your people prior to the first census in 1841, other than the parish baptism, marriage and death records.
You could try newspapers, criminal/apprentice records etc. but generally there will be little out there, other than marriage and children's baptisms. You may be lucky and find him as a witness to a sibling's marriage. I seem to remember Thomas was an ag lab, so unlikely to have any records:(.

MollyMay, thank you for your post. You, Chimp, Sis, Archie’s Mum, and Wendy have brought me to the finish line. Perhaps if there is away for me to share personal information with the team, the team may be able to get me cross the line. Thanks to you all, Rob.
