Replies that quote more than one message

I completely lost the plot when they were playing with clickable smilies! But well done, you have quoted.:)

Just click the reply button belonging to each message you wish to include.

Just practicing (shd that be a 'c' or an 's')

Seems I'm doing something wrong, because when I try to reply to a quote, my response ends up in the quote box instead of outside.

In a similar vein if you wishes to split a quote to allow interspersed comments simply cut and paste the
to end the quotation and the long string in square brackets starting [quote="Guy, post: 1136, member: 22" to begin the next section of quoted posting. (The bit in inverted commas will change according to who you are quoting)
Add your comments between the two sections.
Cheers
Guy

Thanks Guy - I think this might be the bit where I was going wrong. I didn't copy / or maybe I deleted - the
bits. Yonks too late as this thread is from over a year go.

Oops - obviously I haven't mastered it yet

Now what did I do wrong .....

p.s. Aha, I know. I typed in the word 'quote' with the square brackets, so the 'puter thought I was starting a new quote. It was really part of the sentence.

My apologies to all concerned. I just remembered that you'll probably be getting alerts to say that I've replied to a post from 18 months ago, & wonder what on earth is happening. I've just been trying out a few things, to see if I can get the hang of quoting & replying to posts properly, instead of messing it up half the time. :(

Not a problem, Flora, I think. Practice makes perfect, you practice to your hearts content and you'll very soon you'll have the hang of it.........maybe you have already :)

Oooooo Flora I thought I had missed something again (it wouldn't be the first time and won't be the last by a long shot as this lot are always trying to get one past me)
:). But, Mealymoo is absolutely spot on. Have a play and a dibble around until you feel comfy with all the knobs and stuff. But do shout if you need anythng. we is here to serve.

Thanks to you, too, Blackmogs for your kind words. But I reckon they'd have to be up early to get one past you; you're always on the ball :) (how's that for mixed metaphors )

I think I've just about got the basics now; unfortunately I'm one of those people who doesn't learn by reading or listening - I have to actually do something to learn, & then keep doing it, or I forget again. Very tedious..

And I'm with you there Flora - instruction books are something I very rarely read, I have to do it to learn it - then maybe look at the instructions if I seem to have broken it......

Methinks we will be seeing a lot more quotes in your posts from now on ;)

The hard part of the doing, is being able to see what it is you are doing. New camera for instance with many little helpful somethings on screen or dial.
these days I tend to go online for the manual, easier to read & you can enlarge print ;) yeah!
