Was the gritter driver okay? It's very icy out there today (snow and slush has frozen solid) and just about to try the roads. I have an old horse waiting, otherwise I wouldn't be going out.
It seems to have fishtailed on the last bit of the hill while slowing down for the adverse camber bend. I just wish the photographer had taken a wider angle shot. It would show the gritter had just passed a sign: Welcome to Elford Please drive carefully
Yes please Molly. It's still -3, so I'm planning on going nowhere, again. I won't even risk walking round to the local shop. My daughter is saying the same thing. I understand the only injuries the gritter driver suffered were to his pride.
Ratbag! I have just taken my car in for a service and MOT. A lot of the snow is melting and turning to slush. However, we have temperatures of -5C forecast for tonight, which means that the roads will be like skating rinks in the morning.
Ah. A vehicle safety inspection that has to take place each year - and passed. Otherwise, the vehicle is deemed not roadworthy and, should you drive the vehicle without it, you can be prosecuted.
Well the train company got me here - it remains to be seen whether they get us home again but having spent 7 1/2 hours on the M25 yesterday afternoon, I'm used to waiting - providing I have a seat Its absolutely tipping down here in London so as Jan says it will all be slush by tonight and then freeze - the walk in to the station was bad enough this morning - Oh I'm so looking forward to starting my new job.....locally
