What occupation?

Can anyone please tell me what they think of the occupation 4th line down next to Sarah Nugent please? It should be something to do with leather, but it doesn't look like that here

Collins above it looks like Sawyer. Nugent does, also, but slightly different. I tried to make it Tanner, but that doesn't look right. Stumped here. :(

I thought Sawyer at first. The tail on the “y” bothers me. It looks more like the “z” in the Elizabeth further down the page. I’ve been trying (without success) to find an occupation in the leather trade which would fit “S**z*r”.

You and me both :sceptical: I think it ends with "ze (or o)r". I'm not even convinced that the first letter is an S - it looks remarkably like the F in Fellmonger a few lines above, but that makes even less sense

Going along these lines, I wonder if it could be a Friezor? A Friezer operated a friezing machine, which raised the nap on cloth, making it more hard-wearing.

Just a thought...

ETA there does appear to be a dot over the first few letters, making one of them an 'i'.

I like your thinking, I wonder if it could have anything to do with suede, I know that's the soft underside of a hide, but maybe a leather worker might have to do something to the nap...... I know, clutching at straws comes to mind
