Can you find the Clitheros

Just trying all angles.:) Couldn't come even close in the census either! Maybe someone with more expertise can find them.
I know what you mean. I've found some results under Glitheroe for John but am thinking I'll have to give it up again. They probably weren't brother and sister but it seems strange that we can't find anything prior to their weddings. In the past I've wondered if they were orphans and just made up where they were from. There were a few John Cltheroes born in the East End of London but none near Chiswick. The nearest place of birth is Kensington, but it's not that near Chiswick, looking at my maps

Like everyone else I am clutching at straws but Elsiesgirl do you know who William Bunday b1900 enumerated as Nephew with Louisa and Samuel Kidd on the 1901 census?
Could he be a clue?

I found a Louisa Plutherse in 1881 b 1869 RG11 p1350 f101 p23 - could be worth checking further.
The family live in Bennet Street and there is a younger brother John, age slightly out.

Some of the family have been registered as Pluthero (which sounds a bit like Clithero) tho I haven't spotted Louisa's birth reg so far.
If it is your John he would have been 16 when he married so a possible reason to fibabout his age maybe?

Edit - I may have found Louisa Pluthero. b 1868 Kensington, mother's maiden name Brewer. Matches younger brother Robert b Brentford 1880 mmn also Brewer

But before I get too excited I must add that I haven't followed any of the Plutheros forward as yet....

Unfortunately there seems to be a John Pluthero marrying in Brentford in 1892. Will keep looking around tho.
There are a handful of them in the area of right sort of age. Poss related.

Louisa Pluthero baptised 31 May 1868 Hammersmith father John mother Sarah
John Pluthero baptised 10 May 1867 Hammersmith father John mother Sarah
Almost all the Plutheros that I have found so far are in the region of Middlesex. In particular around Kensington.

I think that must be same family. The John b1867 registered Plutherhow mmn Brewer, but sadly died reg as Plutherhoe

He is the son of one of Louisa's sisters (Louisa Clithero nee Kidd that is) can't remember just offhand which sister married a Bunday

Hammersmith is very near Chiswick and that looks promising. I'll look at that tomorrow. Thank you so much

Seems that all this Pluthero family has changed their name to Clithero(e).
1891 census we have Sarah the mother 47, Sarah 25, Louisa 23, a laundry folder, Eliza 18, Joseph 13, Robert 10 Frank 8. Bennet Street, Chiswick. When I get to 1911 census Joseph, Robert and Frank are all Clithero. However, Joseph and Robert both have a discrepancy of 10 years in ages but Frank is OK. All three at Chiswick. A marriage for Joseph Clithero in 1906.

All names same in following census'. Father John missing. Also son John. Name has gone from Plutherse to Pluthero and lastly Clithero. I wonder if the name change has something to do with the missing father.
1901 census:
Sarah Clithero head 54
Sarah 34 laundress
Joesph 23 distillery hand
Robert 21 ship yard labourer
Frank 18 machineman paper mill
Frank 7 grandson' All born Chiswick
Marriage of John Pluthero to Sarah Brewer Sept 1864 Kesnigton.
So far no death of John Pluthero except one in 1867

Just found a genealogy page for John Pluthero 1867. Father John Charles Pluthero, mother Sarah Brewer. He married Eliza Cotmore. Children were John Charles, Mabel Elizabeth, Charles Percy, Mabel R and Percy Henry.
John Charles Pluthero born 10 Feb 1842 and died in Brentford in 1882.
His parents were James Pluthrow and Elizabeth Clack.
Could be something to follow up.

I wouldn't bother going any further with this one as he was born about 1858 not 1867 and would have been 13 when he married Eliza Cotmore if he was yours.
The info on John Pluthero snr born 1842 could be worth following
