(HO 107/1141/2, f.24, p.9)
Slight correction for the 1841 entry. Folio
25, Page 9. Ancestry shows the name Hilden.
I prefer this one also.
Another 1841 entry to keep in mind is HO107, Piece 1150, Book 2, Folio 34, Page 23, in
Villa St.
Thomas Willson 53 Ind(ependant) [Means] (=b. 1788) (Born out of County)
Mary 47 (=b. 1794)
William 19 Factors App(rentice) (=b. 1822)
Alfred 16
Jewellers App(rentice) (=b. 1825)
Mary 14 (=b. 1827)
+ an Emily Watson 5
Looking at the RootsWeb/Derby entry, and assuming it to be correct, it makes mention of
son John
son Thomas
son George
dau Sarah Wilson
Following on from the suggestion that Mary, as mentioned as the subject of the Will was the Mother of Thomas, I have been doing a little digging.
On Family Search I can find that on the 26 June 1825, at the Summer Lane formerly New Hall Street Jerusalem [Church] Birmingham were a number of christenings with the same parents, Thomas and Mary Wilson.
Thomas Wilson b. 23 Oct 1813
Harriett Wilson b. 9 May 1815
George Wilson b. 15 Mar 1820
William Wilson b. 27 Oct 1821
Alfred Wilson b. 17 Mar 1824
We are just missing Sarah and Mary. Mary, of course, born later.
FS appears to have multiple entries for Mary.
Mary Ann Wilson b. 13 May 1827, Bath Street, Birmingham. Christened 1 Oct 1830, St Philip’s, Birmingham.
The next being essentially the same. And then,
Mary Anne Wilson b. 13 May 1827, christened 17 Jun 1827, Summer Lane formerly New Hall Street Jerusalem [Church] Birmingham.
Had they forgotten about the 1st one?
And so to Sarah. No obvious Bap but a marriage entry, St Philip’s, Birmingham, 24 Nov 1852, (giving her Birth year as 1816), to a Peter Bunn, father’s being Thomas Wilson & Thomas Bunn.
Or perhaps as Sarah, on the Will was shown as Sarah Wilson indicates that she remained unmarried?
So where was Sarah in 1841? There is an intriguing entry at HO107, Piece 1147, Book 7, Folio 24, Page 6, in Ryland Road, Birmingham.
All born ‘in County’
Jno Wilson 55 (Can’t read occupation)
Mary Ann Wilson 49
Henry Wilson 16
Caroline Wilson 19
Charles Wilson 10
Emma Wilson 8
Rhoda Wilson 5
Sophia Wilson 3
Sarah Wilson 25.
It reads almost as though she was not part of the ‘family’ and was a relative – possibly helping to care for the ankle snappers.
Of course, where it all falls apart, is the absence of Edward Haseley (Wilson) but it is easier to catalogue the info rather than having to search for it all again.
Kristie. Hope you had a good B'day celebration. Have you any photo's that you
don't want to share with us?
Edit: Oops. I'd missed out John. I can see a Birth in 1819 and a Bap in 1820 but can't really reconcile it with the other entries.
