    Well done everyone, especially Grizel. I'm glad you found the right Thomas. the search for Thomas Ogle Bache was fascinating even if it was a red herring. I was interested because this is how my grandfathers name was spelled in a couple of census transcriptions although it was BAEHR!

    I found Thomas Ogle Bache really interesting too! I always love what this forum turns up - you never know where it is going to lead. We are all experts on so many strange things now!:D
